Surf Life Saving Australia is recommending an industry wide transition to this standard from the former Blue Flag on 1st September 2011.

Black & White quartered flag to signify a zone, or the boundary of a zone, designated for use of surfboards and other water craft. Nylon fabric. Fresh water rinse, dry and hang after use to increase durability.
